By joining Discover-Paranormal, purchasing a ticket for an event or attending an event, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions as detailed below.



Abbreviations and terminology

1. "Discover-Paranormal", "D-P" or "Us" means Discover-Paranormal.
2. "Event" or "Investigation" means a ticketed leisure activity organised by D-P and open to the general public, conducted for the purpose of entertainment.
3. "Society Member", "Member" or "You" means an individual who is either registered on the D-P website, or who attends an D-P Event.
4. "Team Leader" means an individual assigned by D-P to help facilitate the Event.
5. "Ticket" means an offer of attendance on an D-P Event to a Member
6. "Ticket Price" means any money paid by the Member to D-P for the purpose of obtaining one or more Tickets
7. "Venue" or "Location" means the building or area which is designated to conduct the Event within.



Terms and conditions

1. Member's personal details obtained during the registration process will be kept private and for the sole use of D-P to manage and operate the D-P website and Events. Personal information will not be given to third parties including other Members.

2. D-P enables Members to cancel Membership of D-P without reason or notice. A Member can cancel Membership from D-P by using the Contact US form on the website.

3. D-P is a non-profit making organisation and reserves the right to pass on to its Members the full costs of arranging and staging Events in the form of Tickets to the Events. The price of these Tickets is published on the D-P website.

4. Ticket Prices do not include travel or accommodation. Food and/or drink may be included in the Ticket Price. Please check individual Event information for details. If nothing is mentioned in the description of the Event, or any communications from D-P, assume that no refreshments will be provided.

5. Any Ticket paid for in full is non-transferable to another party. D-P maintains the sole right to sell Tickets to its Events and resale of Tickets is strictly prohibited and will invalidate the Ticket.

6. Any Ticket paid for in-full is non-refundable unless the Event is cancelled or rearranged by D-P. At D-P discretion, the Ticket may be transferred as full or part-payment for an alternative Event.

7. If an Event is cancelled/called off once the Event has commenced, then the Event shall be considered as being held. D-P maintains its right to consider if any part/proportional refund of the Ticket Price is due.

8. Where a deposit has been paid, the remaining balance must be paid in full 28 days before the Event date. If the full payment is not received by that date, your Ticket will be cancelled, the deposit will NOT be refunded and the Ticket will be made available for resale by D-P.

9. Anyone attending a D-P Investigation must be aged over 16 years at the time of the Event. D-P reserve the right to refuse admission to the Event, with no refund of the Ticket Price to any Member who cannot provide proof that they are over 16 years old.

10. No D-P Member is permitted to bring guests to an investigation unless there is prior approval from the founding Members. If a guest is permitted to attend, they will also be expected to comply with our terms and conditions. If they do not agree to do so, they will not be permitted to attend.

11. Transportation to and from investigations is the sole responsibility of the individual member, any shared travel will be deemed a personal arrangement between those Members.

12. You should be aware that your participation in paranormal investigations involves a certain amount of inherent risks, dangers and hazards that can result in serious personal injury or maybe even death. D-P will not be held responsible for any distress, harm, injury, or death whilst attending an event whether it be caused as a result of any unexplained activity, fright or not. You attend at your own risk.

13. Paranormal Events can be frightening on occasions and can be quite tense. D-P suggest that if anyone is of a nervous disposition, may be pregnant or have any underlying medical conditions, take this into consideration before attending an Event.

14. D-P will make reasonable endeavours to ensure that Events are arranged and managed with high regard to the safety and security of our Members. D-P will not be held responsible for any harm or injury whilst attending an Event.

15. If You have any special needs or medical conditions You consider that could impact You at an Event, please discuss them with D-P prior to buying any Ticket(s) to ensure that your needs can be accommodated. We will make reasonable endeavours to facilitate these needs, depending on the Location.

16. Members are expected to ensure that they are medically fit to take part in investigations. Including being aware of any adverse side effects of prescribed or over the counter medication they take that could impair their own or others safety.

17. D-P enforces a strict policy on alcohol. If a Member is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at any time immediately before or during an Event they will be asked to leave immediately, with no refund of the Ticket Price. If the Investigation Venue has a bar where alcoholic drinks are available and permitted by D-P to be purchased before or during the Event, You are requested to drink in moderation and not to exceed the legal limit for driving. D-P will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries arising as a result of Members being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

18. Members who are absent from pre-investigation safety briefings/walk arounds may not be permitted to participate in that investigation. It is the responsibility of the individual member to perform their own self risk assessment at each location taking into consideration any known mobility issues or allergic reactions.

19. Being a Member of D-P You agree to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner at all times. D-P expects Members to be courteous, mindful of others at the Location and to respect people's property. If any instructions given by either D-P or representatives of the Location are unclear, please ensure that You ask for clarity from a D-P Team Leader.

20. Smoking/Vaping indoors (including e-cigarettes) at any Location is strictly forbidden. Where possible designated outdoor smoking areas at the Venue will be identified by the D-P Team Leaders on the night of the Event. Any Member breaching this rule will be asked to leave the Location without a refund of the Ticket Price.

21. D-P owns an extensive range of specialist investigation equipment for use by Members during Events. As this equipment can be very expensive, D-P asks that You treat it with care and that You do not abuse it. D-P renders You liable for any loss or damage incurred and will seek to recover any losses directly from You.

22. D-P does not accept liability for damage or loss of personal items. By taking part You agree to indemnify Us and the Location against any loss, damage or theft to your personal possessions whilst taking part in any Event.

23. D-P cannot be held responsible if a paranormal experience does not occur on any planned Event. D-P will not refund Ticket Prices or expenses incurred by the Member if the paranormal is not experienced on the Event. Unfortunately experiencing the paranormal cannot be guaranteed. If any Member is discovered to have faked a paranormal experiment or paranormal experience, either as a joke or intentionally, D-P will immediately terminate your Membership to D-P.

24. D-P Members shall keep all client information and Locations confidential unless the client has signed a release form. This includes social media e.g. Facebook, Twitter Instagram etc.… No exceptions.

25. No D-P Member shall contact any media source concerning an investigation, client information, Event, or group information unless it is approved by the founding Members of the group and all involved parties. This is done to protect the rights, privacy, and reputation of D-P and its clients.

26. All evidence collected as a result of D-P investigations becomes property of the group. Any former member that requests the use of any evidence collected during their Membership period must first obtain permission from the founding Members.

27. All Members are required to help do field research and generate leads for investigation. Each member will be required to follow pre-investigation, investigation, and post-investigation procedures including completing and signing the Paranormal Researcher Disclaimer form at each Event.

28. D-P Investigations conducts investigations only. At no time shall any member of the team attempt to remove entities from a Location or make any claim that the team will attempt to do so. If the client does require this service D-P can make separate provision for this.

29. D-P prohibits all Members from doing freelance investigations, as a D-P representative unless agreed ahead of time. All investigative leads that are generated shall be shared with the group and planning for these investigations will be decided by the founding Members.
